about
Background
I'm a senior staff engineer and architect with more than a decade of experience building web systems in
fintech and e-commerce. At KOHO I lead technical strategy for AI developer tooling, core banking, and
payments resilience.
I take new systems from 0 to 1, with clear boundaries and predictable delivery. A sizable part of my work
is developer tooling and infrastructure, increasingly AI. Recently that's meant an AI coding toolset that
increased throughput across the org, a $400K/yr AI cost optimization, the company's first realtime
inference model (a fraud service that went from $1.5M a year to $26K), a new core banking platform
integration, and card authorizations that got six times faster.
Before fintech, I spent seven years at Wayfair, from entry-level engineer to staff-level lead — building an
SEO platform that powered an $800M marketing funnel and mentoring engineers into tech leads and managers.
I'm based in Salem, Massachusetts, and email is the best way to reach me.

Experience
- AI developer enablement. Designed and deployed an enterprise-wide AI coding toolset:
2–3× weekly PR throughput per developer (4–5 to 12.5/week) and 97% developer satisfaction.
- AI cost optimization. Cut $400K/yr from AI inference costs by tuning configuration across the
company's AI tooling.
- Cost efficiency. Led the migration of a critical realtime fraud detection service (the
company's first realtime inference model) from a legacy vendor product ($1.5M/yr) to a custom Sagemaker
solution ($26K/yr) — a 98% cost reduction.
- Payments stability. Improved p99 card authorization latency from 250ms to 40ms, cut stale
balance fallbacks by 94%, and implemented multi-region failover on Aurora Global Database.
- Core banking. Led integration with a new core banking platform, enabled deposit account
migration, and launched a Pay Later product that reached 10% of active users.
- Platform & governance. Drove SLO coverage from zero to 100+ into a steady state of
zero breaches.
-
Architected and delivered the SEO platform for the core shopping funnel, powering an $800M marketing funnel
and improving organic search ranking and clickthrough rate.
-
Led a team of 10+ engineers and mentored individual contributors into tech leads and managers.
-
Applied domain-driven design to decompose legacy systems into scalable microservices using streaming, REST,
GraphQL, CQRS, and event sourcing.
